NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT women's volleyball team concluded its 2019 season on Sunday with its annual Senior Day match against Stetson and fell to the Hatters in straight sets.

The Highlanders dropped a pair of tight sets to start the match, 25-23 and 26-24, before Stetson won the final set 25-16 to clinch the match.

Madi Busler, one of four NJIT seniors honored before the match, finished with a match-best 17 kills, while freshman Sarah Merritt tallied 11. Another senior, Liz Benson, dished out 31 assists on Sunday, while classmate Olivia Welsch recorded 13 digs. 

In addition to Busler, Benson and Welsch, Alanha Diaz was honored in the pre-match ceremony.
