NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Liberty in ASUN Conference action on Friday, October 25, at the Wellness and Events Center.
Liberty took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-16, respectively, before coming from behind to win the third set 25-18 to clinch the match.
NJIT led the final frame 17-14, but the Flames called a time out and finished the set on an 11-1 run two halt their two-match losing streak.
Madi Busler tallied a team-best 12 kills to lead the Highlanders, while
Liz Benson and
Juliana Impaglia each dished out 11 assists for the hosts.
Olivia Welsch recorded two of NJIT's four aces on Friday.
The Highlanders return to the court on Tuesday when they travel south for an ASUN match at Kennesaw State. First serve against the Owls is slated for 11am.
