LYNCHBURGH, VA - The NJIT women's volleyball team dropped an ASUN Conference match to host Liberty in straight sets (25-16, 26-24, 25-12) at the Vines Center on Friday.
Liberty has now won 13 in a row on its home floor, while the Highlanders have dropped eight-straight road matches since defeating Fairleigh Dickinson in Hackensack on September 7.
The Flames dominated the first and third sets on Friday, but NJIT put up a valiant effort in the middle frame, leading by as many as three, 22-19, late in the set. Liberty was able to rally, however, to tie the set at 23 and ultimately win it.
Madi Busler led the way for NJIT with 11 of the squad's 23 kills.
Juliana Impaglia dished out 20 assists, while
Courtney Branch recorded four blocks.
The Highlanders return to action on Sunday when they host Lipscomb in another ASUN contest. First serve is scheduled for 3pm in the WEC.
