LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – NJIT women's soccer collected a 2-0 win, their fourth consecutive win, over Rider on Sunday night at Ben Cohen Field.
The Highlanders (4-1-1) had two different goal scorers in the win, and outshot the Broncs 17-12.
In the 30
th minute
Lizzy Wolfe finished a cross from
Arianna Gerber from the left side to get NJIT on the board in the first half.
Adding to the scoring was defender
Emily Heckman, who headed the ball into the net of a corner kick from
Siani Magruder in the 64
th minute.
Senior Gerber and
Fiona Wright each tallied four shots each for the Highlanders.
Goalie
Amelia Sapirman registered her fourth win and fourth shutout of the season, posting three saves.
For Rider (2-1-1) Carmen Carbonell tallied seven saves in the loss.
NJIT continues play on the road heading to Stony Brook next on September 6 for a 7pm start time.
