KENNESAW, GA – NJIT Baseball dropped game two of their three game series against Kennesaw State on Saturday after noon, 7-2.
For the Highlanders, RF
Matthew Cocciadiferro went 3-for-4 and was the only Highlander with multiple hits, while 3B
Pat O'Hare went 1-for-3 with the Highlanders only RBI.
LF Terence Norman went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Owls, while 2B Grant Williams and C Daniel Seres both went 2-for-4 with two RBI's each.
KSU was the first to score in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Williams.
The Owls lead was short lived, when the Highlanders tied things up in the top of the second inning.
NJIT went up in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by O'Hare.
Kennesaw State would add on three more runs in the bottom of the fourth to regain the lead, and added three more for the final score.
Brooks Buckler pitched all nine innings for the Owls with three strikeouts and two earned runs.
Sean Lubreski started the game for the Highlanders, going six innings in the loss, with
Chris Gibbons pitching .2 innings and
Brent Jones came in the seventh finishing off the game.
The Highlanders and Owls will play their final game of the series tomorrow starting at 1pm.
