CAMBRIDGE, MA – Men's Volleyball lost to EIVA opponent Harvard 3-0, 25-21, 25-19, and 25-15 on Saturday afternoon.
Piotr Namiotko was again the top producer for the Highlanders (7-16, 4-8 EIVA), grabbing a match-high 16 kills.
Setter
Cameron Tait notched a match-high 29 assists, and the Highlanders led the match in blocks 5-4.
For Harvard (11-11, 10-2 EIVA), Marko Kostich led his team in assists with 19, digs with six and added seven kills in the win.
Brad Gretsch made a team-high 10 kills and Riley Moore contributed three serving aces and a team-high three blocks.
The first set started off strong for the Crimson, taking an early 5-0 lead. The Highlanders would work their way back into the match down two 23-21 but Harvard scored the final two points to win 25-21.
In the second, Harvard had a 23-16 lead and the Highlanders scored the next two points on a kill by
Bailey Mundy and blocks by
Alvaro Gimeno and
Kevin Myren to bring NJIT within five. However that would be the closest NJIT would come dropping the second set 25-19.
Harvard had the advantage all of the third set, and their five point drive making it 17-8 secured their win.
Men's volleyball will host Springfield for their last home match of the season, a non-conference match on April 11 at 6pm.
