WEST POINT, NY—Army West Point halted the Highlander win streak at four, topping visiting NJIT, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in men's tennis action at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
Army West Point (4-7) won its second straight match, earning the doubles point with wins at second and third doubles. The Black Knights recorded wins at the first four singles contests to secure the 5-2 win.
NJIT (4-1), which suffers its first loss of the season, recorded a 6-3 victory at first doubles and picked up wins at fifth and sixth singles.
Highlander pair
Jan Cimrman and
Abdullah Fouad recorded a 6-3 victory at first doubles.
Co-captains
Zac Castagna and
Richard Rangga were the only winners for the Highlanders in singles action.
Castagna won in straight sets at the fifth spot, 6-3, 6-4 while Rangga was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at sixth singles.
NJIT will return to action on Sunday when the Highlanders visit Brown at 8:30am.
