LYNCHBURG, VA—Liberty swept visiting NJIT, 3-0 (25-13, 25-6, 25-15), Friday evening in ASUN Conference women's volleyball action Vines Center.
Liberty (8-3 ASUN, 12-13 overall) were paced by Casey Goodwin with a match-best nine kills followed by Lilly Kruse (eight kills) and Kainah Williams (seven kills).
Setter Hannah Morris just missed posting a double-double, combining for 30 assists and nine digs.
Liberty's Margarey Latchford led the Flames with 11 digs while Williams added seven.
In front of the net, Williams registered seven block assists to lead the match followed by Goodwin with five block assists.
NJIT (2-9 ASUN, 4-22 overall) was led by freshman
Lillee Olson with six kills. Senior
Jovana Baosic and
Madi Busler each notched four kills.
Setters
Liz Benson and
Marissa Soistman split time at the setting position, piling up eight and six assists apiece.
Senior libero
Adriana Nieto, who leads the ASUN in total digs and digs per set, led the match with 12 digs.
NJIT will return to action on Sunday at 1pm when the Highlanders visit Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, FL.
