JACKSONVILLE, FL – NJIT women's soccer fell 2-0 to ASUN Conference opponent Jacksonville on Friday night.
The Highlanders (6-5) fall to 0-2 in conference play while the Dolphins (3-6) grab their first ASUN win after losing 2-1 to North Florida.
Jacksonville scored a goal in each half, the first coming from a penalty kick by Danielle Henry in the 44
th minute. Sope Akindoju added the Dolphins second goal in the 53
rd minute off a corner kick from Camille Copperthite.
NJIT tallied five shots on goal, with junior midfielder
Neema Liverpool notching three of them.
Amelia Sapirman made six saves for the Highlanders, with her final one coming in the very last second of the game.
For the Dolphins Britany Hundley had five saves in her first shutout of 2017.
The Highlanders continue ASUN play on Sunday staying in Jacksonville and facing North Florida for a 1pm game.
