CLINTON, SC—The NJIT men's tennis team (7-13) fell to Presbyterian (15-10) 5-1, Friday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.
Highlander duo Lukas Zvikas and Zac Castagna earned a doubles victory, defeating Presbyterian's Diego Manzanas and Jaime Castillo-Lopez, 6-2 at third doubles. Presbyterian, however, would go on to take the doubles point.
In the singles competition, NJIT freshman Aleksa Petrovic secured the only point for the Highlanders, defeating Alexander Lykou of Presbyterian, by identical scores, 6-3, 6-3, at first singles.
NJIT junior Richard Rangga fought hard at fifth singles, but ultimately fell to Alejandro Bejar, by identical scores, 6-4, 6-4.
NJIT will conclude the regular season portion of its schedule Saturday, April 15, when the Highlanders travel to Spartanburg, SC to take on USC Upstate in ASUN Conference play. The match will begin at 2pm.
