PRINCETON, NJ—The NJIT men's tennis team (4-5) dropped a 6-1 decision to the Princeton Tigers Saturday morning in non-conference tennis action.
Sophomore
Pablo Arrutia recorded the only win of the day for the Highlanders at sixth singles, defeating Princeton junior Ben Tao in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
NJIT's
Richard Rangga took the first set at the fifth spot against Princeton's Jonathan Carcione, but ultimately was unable to close the match out, as Caricone took the next two sets, topping Rangga, 5-7, 6-1, 10-6.
In doubles action, the Highlanders were unable to generate any momentum on the day, dropping all three doubles matches by a score of 6-2.
NJIT will return to action on March 13 when the Highlanders travel to Winter Park, FL to take on Rollins, beginning at 10:30 am
