Rob Ukawuba Selected by Windsor Express in Second Round of NBL Canada Draft

Rob Ukawuba, a 2017 graduate of NJIT, was selected by the Windsor Express in the second round of the National Basketball League of Canada draft.

The 6-foot-4 guard was drafted fifth in the second round of the 2017 NBL Canada draft.

"There were a lot of good players at the combine, so I am thankful to have been drafted and excited for training camp to begin on November 1." Ukawuba added.

In 2016-17, Ukawuba appeared on ESPN SportCenter's Top 10 plays twice – a dunk of Purdue's 6-foot-9 Caleb Swanigan on November 26, 2016 and a reverse dunk from a half-court, alley-oop feed from teammate Damon Lynn on January 12, 2017.

He appeared in all 30 games as a senior, finishing fifth on the team in scoring with an average of 7.9 ppg, while averaging 7.4 ppg and 4.8 rpg in the last 12 games of the season.

Ukawuba tied his career-high 20 points (7-8, 0-1, 6-6) with five rebounds and a season-high two blocks against Kennesaw State on January 25.  He registered his first double-double of his career with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 24 minutes of action on January 19 at Stetson.

The Windsor Express finished with a 22-18 overall mark in 2016-17.
