FLUSHING, NY—St. John's, ranked No. 61 in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I men's tennis team rankings, defeated visiting NJIT 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at the National Tennis Center.
St. John's improved to 17-6 on the season, sweeping the Highlanders in the doubles contests while taking five out of six singles contests to secure the 6-1 victory. NJIT drops to 8-6 on the season.

Markus Schultz, competing at No. 1 singles, won in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 and recorded the Highlanders only point of the match, topping Daniel Skripnik.
The Highlanders, still seeking its first win in the Atlantic Sun Conference, will visit Kennesaw State on Thursday at 2pm and Lipscomb on Saturday at 2pm.
