th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Men's Northeast Region, in a tight match, 4-3, and sophomore
Lukas Zvikas clinched the match for NJIT at sixth singles Saturday afternoon at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
NJIT picked up its first win of the 2016 spring season, winning four out of six singles contests. Buffalo, defending Mid-American Conference champions, earned the doubles point, sweeping all three contests and picked up a pair of victories at second and fifth singles.

Ira Miller added. "A real team effort. Seniors Arnaud (Holl) and Markus (Schultz) led the way with early singles wins, followed by sophomore Jan (Cimrman), playing one of his best matches of the spring. And for the clincher, sophomore Lukas (Zvikas) served it out in grand style. I couldn't be prouder!"
Senior
Markus Schultz, who was ranked 12
th in the ITA Northeast Preseason Singles Rankings, won in straight sets at first singles, 6-4, 6-1 against UB's Amar Hromic.
Jan Cimrman won by identical scores at the third spot, 6-4, 6-4 over Sergio Arciadbillo while senior
Arnaud Holl battled out a three-set tilt at fourth singles, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
Lukas Zvikas clinched the match at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-4 defeating Artur Culicovschi.
NJIT will return to action on Sunday at 10am when the Highlanders visit Princeton.
