Kelly Guarino netted a game-high 16 points and senior point guard
Alana Dudley dished out a personal-best 10 assists in the Highlanders 57-43 victory at Delaware State Sunday afternoon at Memorial Hall.
NJIT, which snaps a three-game skid, picks up its fourth win of the season, matching its 2015-16 win total while Delaware State drops to 1-7 on the season.
Guarino, a 2016 ASUN All-Rookie team honoree, netted a season-high 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers while adding four rebounds in the victory.
Dudley, named to the 2016 ASUN Preseason All-Conference team, dished out a career-best 10 assists, which ties the NJIT Division I single-game record with
Alyssa Albanese (Class of 2015). Dudley has recorded a least one assist through 10 games this season, pushing her career total to 211, which ranks fifth all-time.

Leah Horton just missed, notching a double-double, netting 13 points and pulling down nine rebounds.
Redshirt freshman forward
Jillian Libby scored six points and pulled down six rebounds for the Highlanders while junior
Taj Lewis scored seven points off the bench.
NaJai Pollard recorded a double-double – 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five blocked shots and three assists for Delaware State in the loss. Pollard finished 6-of-10 from the field and 3-for-3 from the charity strip.
The Highlanders got things going early, scoring the first six points of the contest.
Pollard scored the first points of game for Delaware State, knocking down a jumper in the paint under the six-minute mark, which sparked a 10-2 run for a 10-8 lead with 1:12 left in the first period. Guarino gave the Highlanders a one-point lead, 11-10, sinking a three-pointer with 14 seconds left to end the quarter.
Delaware State scored the first five points of the second quarter, taking a four-point lead, 15-11, but the Highlanders scored 14 unanswered for a 10-point advantage, 25-15, with less than four minutes to go until halftime.
The Hornets broke the scoring drought with a bucket by Pollard at 3:32 and Aaliyah Davis knocked down a pair of free throws with 52 seconds. The Highlanders went into the half with an eight-point lead, 27-19.
The Highlanders combined for 30 second-half points and took its first double-digit lead, 36-25, after a pair of free throws by
Jordan Ireland at the 5:37 mark of the third period. Delaware State scored four straight, cutting the deficit to seven, 36-29. NJIT's
Alana Dudley scored the final four points of the third period, giving the Highlanders a 40-29 advantage.
Guarino opened the fourth period with a three-pointer and the Highlanders took its biggest lead of the contest, 48-31, on a fast break layup by Horton at the 8:17 mark.
The Hornets went on a 6-2 run, cutting the Highlander lead to 12, 50-38 but NJIT's Ireland sank a three-pointer with 2:41 on the clock, giving the visitors a 14-point lead, 55-41.
The Highlanders went on to pick up its fourth win of the season with a 57-43 victory.
NJIT will visit Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia on December 13 at 7pm, marking the second all-time meeting between the two schools. The Hawks defeated NJIT, 68-59, on December 28, 2007.
