NASHVILLE, TN—Visiting NJIT dropped a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-13) decision at Lipscomb Friday evening in ASUN Conference women's volleyball action at Allen Arena.
With the victory, Lipscomb improves to 11-7 overall, 4-2 in the ASUN while the Highlanders, still searching for its first win in ASUN action in 2016, falls to 8-14 overall, 0-6 in the league.
Lipscomb finished the match with a .217 hitting percentage paced by Chloe Rodgers match-high nine kills. The Bisons Taylor Racich added eight kills followed by seven apiece from Lauren Anderson and Carlyle Nusbaum.
The Bisons used two setters – Kayla Ostrom and Morgan Elmore, each recording 17 and 12 assists respectively.
Defensively, Brittany Thomas was the leader in the digs category with 11 while Maddie Phillips paced the match with six total blocks (two solo, four assists).
The home team held an 8-2 advantage in the service ace category, led by Racich's three aces.

Weronika Wiezik paced the visitors with six kills followed by five from
Tess Albyn.
Freshman setter
Liz Benson piled up 14 assists and six digs for the Highlanders while senior
Katarzyna Klocek was the team-leader with seven digs.
Junior middle
Mikalah Hughes notched five block assists in the match, as the home team held a slight edge over Lipscomb in front of the net, 9-to-8, in team blocking.
The Highlanders closest set of the match, came in the first frame, which saw nine ties and two lead changes. Late in the frame, the Highlanders held a 22-19 lead after an attack error by the Bisons but after a timeout by Lipscomb, the Bisons scored six unanswered points to earn the 25-22 victory.
NJIT will return to action on Saturday at 5pm when the Highlanders visit Kennesaw State. Kennesaw State comes into the match with an 11-match win streak and six straight wins in the ASUN, after defeating USC Upstate in three straight sets Friday evening.
