NEWARK, NJ –
Markus Schultz, from Hagersten, Stockholm has been honored as Male Athlete of the week for his performance through September 21.
The senior competed in the Ivy Plus Tournament hosted by Princeton over the weekend
Schultz, who competed in the Tiger Draw, dropped a 6-4, 7-6 decision (2) to Columbia's Shawn Hadavi before bouncing back with a straight-set victory against Cornell's Stefan Vinti, 6-3, 6-1. In his third match, Schultz defeated Tulsa's Gonzalez in a three-set tilt 6-2, 3-6, 12-10 to advance to the finals of the backdraw against Virginia Tech's Edoardo Tessaro. In the finals Schultz dropped a straight set to Tessaro 6-2, 7-5.
