MACON, GA—The 2015 Atlantic Sun Most Valuable Mascot Challenge semifinal concluded on Tuesday, July 21 with the NJIT Highlander advancing to the finals looking to win his first A-Sun Mascot Challenge title.
Florida Gulf Coast Azul the Eagle, two-time defending A-Sun Conference Most Valuable Mascot of the Year, received the most votes in the semifinal round and seeks to win his third consecutive Mascot crown.
Azul garnered the most votes this week as fans voted on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Vine Monday-Tuesday to collect 15,119.7 total votes. The Highlander – the league newcomer – finished second with 11,440 votes.
Thursday's final will be the end of this year's A-Sun Mascot competition. Fans will get the chance to vote on all four social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Vine) to determine the 2015 Atlantic Sun Most Valuable Mascot. Voting will begin at 9:30 a.m.

TwitterVisit the A-Sun Twitter account (
@AtlanticSun) and retweet and favortie the photo of the Highlander. Additionally, fans can tweet using the hashtag
#VoteHighlander and also retweet tweets which have the hashtag in them. All tweets, retweets and favorites represent one vote each.
VineVisit the A-Sun Vine account (
Atlantic Sun) and view the six-second video of the Highlander. Every 10 loops (the video will automatically start over after it ends) equals one vote, while a re-vine of the video will count as one vote.
