HEMPSTEAD, NY—The NJIT men's tennis team concluded the 2014-15 season posting a 6-1 victory at Hofstra Sunday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center.
The Highlanders swept the doubles contests and won five of six singles matches recording the 6-1 victory. NJIT finished the 2014-15 season 10-7 overall and 7-0 at home.
Highlander duo
Markus Schultz and
Arnaud Holl posted a 6-2 victory at first doubles topping Beau Wills and Niko Vulinovich. Schultz was a straight set winner at first singles, 6-0, 6-4 topping Willis while Holl dropped a three-set tilt against Vulinovich, 6-7 (5), 7-5, and 10-4.
NJIT duo
Andres Alban and
Jan Cimrman recorded a 6-4 second spot doubles win against Ari Richman and Ricky Hendler. Alban, competing at second singles, battled out a three-set tilt against Richman, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 while Cimrman won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3 at the fourth spot.
Doubles pair
Richard Rangga and
Luka Kaic defeated Hofstra's Leonardo Pires and Kevin Devine at third doubles. Rangga won in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 at fifth singles while Kaic was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at the sixth spot.
