WEST POINT, NY—NJIT freshman
David Kong captured the individual men's foil title at the 2014 MACFA Conference Championships hosted by Army Sunday evening.
The NJIT men finished 5th out of 14 schools and the men's foil squad led by Kong tied in victories and were a mere four touches away from receiving bronze.
Kong, a freshman from Rutherford, NJ only lost one bout during the team event to Findley, who he later defeated in the gold medal match to win the conference championship.
Ian Constantin lost to Eric Gardner 15-14 in the round of 16 and
Ryan Hrapsky beat David Jennings in the round of 16 but also lost 15-14 to Gardner in the round of 8. Garnder went on to win the championship in Epee.
