WALTHAM, MA—The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams competed at the 2014 Eric Sollee Invitational hosted by Brandies University Saturday.
Teams featured at the Invitational were: Haverford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston College, Stevens, Brown, NJIT and host Brandies.
Freshman
David Kong was the top men's performer for the Highlanders recording a 15-3 overall mark on the day on the foil strip. Kong went perfect 3-0 against Haverford, MIT, Brown and Boston College while notching a 2-1 mark against Stevens.
Classmate
Ryan Hrapsky recorded an 8-10 mark in epee competition. Hrapsky went 3-0 against Boston College and 2-1 against Brown.
In saber competition,
Bryan Ransinangue and
Alex Sadowski picked up eight wins apiece. Ransinangue went 2-1 against Haverford and Boston College while picking up single wins against Brandies, MIT, Brown and Stevens. Sadowski recorded three 2-1 marks against Haverford, Brown and Stevens.
Margaret Christian was the top performer on the women's side recording an 8-10 mark on the saber strip. The senior went 3-0 against Haverford while earning a 2-1 victory past Boston College and Stevens.
Freshman foilist
Alessandra Rodrigues went 7-11 at the Invitational picking up two 2-1 victories against Haverford and Boston College.
