WEST POINT, NY—The NJIT men's tennis team concluded play at the Army Invitational Saturday at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
On Friday, the Highlanders took three singles matches and two doubles contests, defeating Stony Brook, 4-3, and followed up with two doubles contest victories against Marist.
In singles play against Marist on Saturday, NJIT only won one contest coming at the first spot. NJIT's
Markus Schultz won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0 defeating Timo Tanzer as the Red Foxes took a 5-2 victory.
In the second match of the day against host Army, the Highlanders won two-out-of-three doubles contests and four-out-of-six singles contests for a 5-2 win.

Arnaud Holl and
Carl Jedlinski teamed for an 8-5 victory at second doubles, defeating Black Knights duo Peter Sienko and Daniel Zheng.
Richard Rangga and
Luka Kaic teamed for an 8-6 win at third double,s topping Michael Sienko and David Proctor.
NJIT's Schultz was a straight-set winner at first singles over Alex Van Velzerm 7-5, 6-0.
Andres Alban went the distance at the second spot against Peter Sienko, dropping the first frame, 4-6, and bouncing back 7-5, 10-3 to earn the win.
Holl, competing at third singles, was a double-winner against Army, topping Zheng, 6-4, 6-3, while Rangga won by identical scores at the fifth spot, 6-4, 6-4 over Proctor.
NJIT which closed out its fall portion of its schedule, will return to action on January 31 when the Highlanders visit Fairfield at 8:30pm.
