NEWARK, NJ—The men's fencing team will have five fencers representing NJIT in the 2013 Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Fencing Championships to be hosted by Lafayette in Easton, PA, on Saturday, March 9.
Senior
Max McDermott from Clinton, NJ, competes in the men's foil. McDermott was 41-19 this season in varsity bouts. He placed 21
st last season at the NCAA Fencing Regionals.
Senior
Dylan Carr from Glen Gardner, NJ and a graduate of Voorhees High School competes on the men's sabre strip. This season, Carr finished with a 43-17 overall record. He placed 25
th at the 2012 NCAA Fencing Regionals.
Junior
Bryan Ransinangue from Wayne, NJ, competes in the men's sabre. A four-year varsity starter and co-captain at Wayne Hills High School, Bryan combined for a 41-19 overall record this past season at NJIT. Last season at the NCAA Fencing Regionals, the junior placed 29
th.
Sophomore
Guillaume Lanteri from Paris, France competes in the men's epee. Lanteri combined for a 43-17 overall record.
Sophomore
Ian Pershad from Montclair, NJ, will be the first alternate in the men's foil. He posted an 18-36 overall record this season. Pershad took 26th last season at the NCAA Fencing Regionals.
