HOBOKEN, NJ—The NJIT men's fencing team competed at the Stevens Invitational this past weekend led by three different Highlanders –
Max McDermott (foil strip),
Guillaume Lanteri (epee strip) and
Dylan Carr (saber strip).
The NJIT men went 2-2 at the Invitational with victories over Hunter (17-10) and Yeshiva (23-4) but fell by identical scores to Army and Stevens (16-11).
McDermott, the Highlanders senior, finished with a 10-2 overall record sweeping Hunter, Army, and Yeshiva and earning on win against Stevens.
Sophomore
Ian Pershad went 5-1 competing against Stevens and Yeshiva.
Lanteri combined for a 10-2 victory sweeping Hunter, Army and Yeshiva.
The saber squad combined for a 24-12 record led by Carr who registered an impressive 11-1 overall record with his lone loss coming at the hands of Army.
Junior
Bryan Ransinangue went 9-3 on the saber strip sweeping Hunter, Stevens and Yeshiva.
