NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT men's ice hockey team fell in overtime, 6-5, to Rutgers Saturday at the Prudential Center.
Despite outshooting the Ice Knights of Rutgers 41 - 32 and dominating the play for much of the game, the Highlanders found themselves down 5-4 with less than a minute to play in regulation.

Thomas Pyrka came to the bench for an extra attacker for the Highlanders.
The pace was fast and furious as NJIT swarmed the net when finally Michael Crisitello scored his second goal of the game with 9.1 seconds remaining to tie the game at 5-5.
In overtime, the Highlanders dominated possession but could only come away with one point as Rutgers scored the game-winner that moved them into sole possession of first place in the division.
