ORLANDO, FL—The NJIT men's tennis team improved to 10-4 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Chicago State Tuesday evening recording the teams' first victory of the Spring Break trip.
 
The Highlanders posted its 10^th victory of the season winning five out of six singles matches in straight sets Tuesday.  The Cougars (0-10) earned the doubles point taking first and second doubles and picked up the team's second point at third singles.
 
Highlanders Holger Norregaard was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at the first spot.  Norregaard also won by default at third doubles with Victor Martinez.  Martinez picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory at second singles.
 
Sophomore Ike Kiro topped Chicago State's Rashley Yeremia 6-1, 6-3 followed by senior Dan Salomon with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the fifth spot.  Senior Bryan Keelan won by default at sixth singles.
 
The Highlanders will have off on Wednesday from competition and return with a 10am match on Thursday vs. Bucknell.
