EASTON, PA—Fourteen men's and women's fencers represented NJIT at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South fencing regional competition hosted by Lafayette College Saturday.
211 of the nation's top fencers competed in the 13-team event.
In the women's epee,
Julia Aronov placed in the top 18 followed by
Jaila Graham 21
st and
Macarena Maldonado 32
nd while men's fencer
Peter Besada took 33
rd.
Junior
Max McDermott finished 21
st on the men's foil strip while teammate
Ian Pershad took 26
th and
Michael Hamfeldt placed 33
rd. On the women's side, NJIT's
Hannah Huan finished 30
th,
Jennifer Ramos 32
nd and
Crystal Ramjattan 33
rd.
On the men's saber strip,
Christian Aldover took 24
th followed by
Dylan Carr in 25
th place.
Bryan Ransinangue placed in 29
th on the saber strip. The only women competing on the saber strip was
Opeyemi Alade, who finished 35
th for the Highlanders.
