EASTON, PA—Fourteen men's and women's fencers represented NJIT at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South fencing regional competition hosted by Lafayette College Saturday. 
 
211 of the nation's top fencers competed in the 13-team event.
 
In the women's epee, Julia Aronov placed in the top 18 followed by Jaila Graham 21^st and Macarena Maldonado 32^nd while men's fencer Peter Besada took 33^rd.
 
Junior Max McDermott finished 21^st on the men's foil strip while teammate Ian Pershad took 26^th and Michael Hamfeldt placed 33^rd.  On the women's side, NJIT's Hannah Huan finished 30^th, Jennifer Ramos 32^nd and Crystal Ramjattan 33^rd.
 
On the men's saber strip, Christian Aldover took 24^th followed by Dylan Carr in 25^th place.  Bryan Ransinangue placed in 29^th on the saber strip.    The only women competing on the saber strip was Opeyemi Alade, who finished 35^th for the Highlanders.
