With only one game this weekend the short-handed Highlanders hoped to have enough energy to get back on the winning track as they faced off against their arch rivals from Rutgers.
Once again they jumped out to a 1 - 0 lead, this time on an unassisted goal by
Jason Anagnos.
Michael Lipinski was unbeatable in net for the first two periods as NJIT held a 1 - 0 lead in the 3rd period.
But the tying goal for Rutgers gave them a boost and the game slowly slipped away on 4 unanswered goals by the Scarlet Knights.
