PHILADELPHIA-UPenn beat NJIT last night for the first time ever. 

Down 3-0 by the middle of the first period the Highlanders battled back but were not able to overcome the the lackluster start. 

Kyle Bendel got things going but UPenn came right back to make it 4-1 at the at the end of the period. 

NJIT outscored the home team 2-0 in the second period on power play goals by Matthew Potter and Dave Smetaniuk and it appeared that the tide had turned.  UPenn wasn't done as they netted 4 more in the third.

Christian Corey, Adam Finkle and Robert Amos scored  for NJIT to make it close. 

Chris Sala, Gary Apito, Tim Valvano, Amos (2), Adam Finkle, Jason Anagnos, Dave Smetaniuk all had assists for the Highlanders.
