PRINCETON
, NJ
—Princeton, ranked 70th in the nation, swept visiting NJIT, 7-0, Sunday in the first-ever meeting between the schools in men's tennis.

Princeton is 6-2 on the season, including two wins over ranked opponents and both losses for the formidable Tigers came by one points. The Highlanders are 2-4.

Princeton won all six singles matches in straight sets and the Tigers took all three doubles contests. However, the second doubles point was airtight, as NJIT's duo of Petr Rousar and Joao Tasca were nipped, 7-8.

The two closest singles matches for the Highlanders came at third singles and at sixth singles. At number three, Princeton's Dan Davies dropped Tasca, 6-4, 6-2. And Tiger Yohei Shoji took a pair of 6-3 sets from NJIT's Martin Cederqvist.

The home tennis match that had been scheduled for March 2 against Sacred Heart has been postponed due to the dedication ceremony the next day for the new Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility. The match with Sacred Heart will be re-scheduled for a later date to be announced.

As a result of the Sacred Heart postponement, the next match for the Highlanders will be on Friday at 2 pm in West Point, NY, vs. Army.
