PRINCETON, NJ – The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams competed at the Princeton Invitational Sunday afternoon in Jadwin Gym. The meet was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed due to the winter storm that was expected to hit New Jersey.
The men's team competed against Stevens and Princeton while the women faced Stevens, Princeton and Fairleigh Dickinson.
Captain Tony Sorgi finished the day 3-3, picking up the Highlanders only victory against Princeton in the epee competition.
Freshman Dylan Carr went 2-1 against Stevens while teammate Justin Daniel won one bout against Stevens and Princeton.
On the women's side, Karen Cilento ended the day 2-1 as Jennifer Ramos, Andrea Camargo and Kristen Hagen each picked up one victory.
Women's fencing will return to action on March 6 at the NIWFA Championships. Men's fencing will be back in action on Saturday in Hoboken at the MACFA Multi Meet A vs. C.
