TENAFLY, NJ – The NJIT men's tennis team was dominant in its 6-1 victory over Bryant Saturday at the Tenafly Racquet Club.
NJIT took five of the six singles matches and earned one point in the doubles competition with wins a first and third doubles.
Carl Lundquist and Diego Abreu had a big day, teaming for a 8-3 win at first doubles. Lundquist was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at second singles while Abreu picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at fourth singles.
Freshman Fraser Croad and Dimitri Athans combined for a 8-2 win at third doubles and were victorious at third and sixth singles. Croad won 6-4, 6-2 at third singles as Athans went 6-1, 7-5 at the sixth spot.
Senior Stephen Erickson defeated Bryant's Cristian Balestrieri in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
The Highlanders will have a quick turnaround and travel to Hofstra on Sunday.
