BOSTON - The NJIT men's tennis team won four singles matches and swept the doubles contests, raising its season match record to 10-5 with a 5-2 men's tennis win over Boston University Sunday afternoon at the Track and Tennis Center.
Junior Steve Erickson was dominant at second singles for NJIT taking a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Boston University's Miron Nissim.
Freshman Dan Salomon was a 6-3, 6-4 winner for the Highlanders at fourth singles, while senior Dimitri Athans won in the fifth spot 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(6) and Anthony Tunnero took sixth singles, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Doubles partners Carl Lundquist and Cosmin Chiujdea were winners at first doubles taking a 9-8 victory as Erickson and Tunnero added a 8-1 win a second doubles. NJIT's Bryan Keelan and Saloman defeated Nissim and Tim Sichler 8-5 at third doubles.
The Highlanders will return to action on Thursday when face Marist at 6:00pm.
