LOS ANGELES, CA – University of Southern California, ranked No. 5 in the latest national AVCA Division I-II Men's Top 15 Coaches Poll, swept New Jersey Institute of Technology, 3-0, Saturday night at the Lyon Center in men's volleyball action.
USC won the three-set match against NJIT, 30-19, 30-28 and 30-17. Matt Pavlovich had a team-high 10 kills on 17 swings with two errors for a .471 hitting percentage for the Trojans, who improved their record to 13-5 overall.
Freshman
Raphael Mattos led the NJIT attack with a match-high 11 kills and seven digs. Senior
Amobi Armstrong added nine kills while classmate
Rodrigo Correa piled up a team-high 21 assists.
The Highlanders will return to action on Tuesday (March 17) when they face Cal State Northridge, ranked No. 1
in the national NCAA Division I-II poll at 10:00pm (EDT).
