38 saves for Mike Lipinski as NJIT Drops Tough Loss to LaSalle in OT

LaSalle University escaped with a 2-1 victory last night at Prudential Center over NJIT after tying the game near the end of the 3rd period and then charging the net to drive the winner home in OT.

It was like "Old Time" hockey out there last night as the Explorers from LaSalle were called twice for headbutting and ran the goalie every chance they got.  It was during one of these runs at Lipinski that they were able to poke the puck into the net for the game winner.

After all their hard work, including a sensational play by Alex Guimaraes to set up Jason Anagnos for the only score in the first two periods, the home team deserved better.  A 6-0 loss to the Explorers earlier in the season provided the motivation and the Highlanders used it to prove they were up to the challenge as this game could have gone either way.

Freshman Andy Sindt turned in his strongest outing of the year with a terrific "two-way" effort.  Due to a cancellation by Widener and a postponement by Princeton this wraps up the first semester as the boys prepare for their exams.

Next league game will be the "Home and Home" series against Rutgers on January 15th at Prudential Center & 17th at Protech Ponds.

Check back on the schedule as the Princeton game is tentatively scheduled for January 8th at Baker Rink in Princeton.
