NJIT vs. Princeton @ Prudential Center

The Princeton Tigers came to Newark for their first visit to Prudential Center and came away with an exciting 3-2 victory.

The Highlanders struck first on a powerful shot from the point by captain Chris Oertell. The Tigers scored to tie it midway through the period. The 2nd period began much like the first as there was another goal in the opening minutes, but this time it was Princeton, capitalizing on a power play to take the lead.

Less than a minute later NJIT answered with a goal by Mike Mellilo. The game was tied 2-2 for almost 25 minutes until Princeton scored the game winner in the middle of the 3rd period.

The Highlanders came close as they applied pressure all night long, but they just couldn't put another one in despite out-shooting the Tigers 33-28 at home, they came away on the short end.
