The Highlanders came out strong and put pressure on the home team, but the LaSalle Univerity Explorers withstood everything thrown their way, including an extended 5-3 penalty kill, for a 6-0 victory.

The difference was the Explorer's goalie who kept the puck out of the net despite facing numerous quality scoring opportunities.   

Yllano Tubijella played well in goal for 2 1/2 periods but NJIT was losing 3-0 when he was replaced midway through the 3rd period by freshman Mike Lipinski.  

Meanwhile at the other end Liam McManus was unbeatable and his teammates fed off his effort.
