NEWARK, NJ – The NJIT men's and women's swimming teams' hosted Montclair State Thursday night in the final home meet of the season.
NJIT honored its three senior's Ashley Craig, James Paccioretti, Steve Schreyer and Michael Lawson before the start of the meet.
Senior Paccioretti captured two third-place finishes for the Highlanders in the 200 yard freestyle (2:01.48) and in the100 yard freestyle (55.46). Junior Steve Schreyer grabbed second in the 100 yard freestyle (51.80) and a third place finish in the 50 yard freestyle (23.39).
Rookie Andrew Helbers placed second in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:21.62) and Richard Montesano was second in the 200 yard IM (2:18.15).
NJIT's Karen Cilento competed in two events for the home team recording a third-place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:17.96) and fourth in the 50 yard freestyle (27.27)
Captain Teresa Higgins was third in the 500 yard freestyle (6:16.55) picking up nine points for the Highlanders. Rachael Abadie was third in the 200 yard freestyle (2:19.77).
Senior Craig, swimming in her final home meet of the season finished fifth in the 50 yard freestyle (32.05).
The Highlanders will travel to SUNY Maritime on Monday, January 26 for a 6:00pm meet.
