NEWARK, NJ – The NJIT women's swimming team hosted Wagner Friday afternoon at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

Highlander Sadie Mele making her season debut in the pool putting together a strong performance in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.46.

Captain Teresa Higgins dropped 2.71 seconds off her 200 freestyle time from the Highlanders last home meet against Manhattan finishing at 2:21.89.

Freshman Rachael Abadie picked up a second place finish in the 50 freestyle at 26.05 while sophomore Karen Cilento added a third place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:00.77.

The Highlanders will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Lehigh for a 1:00pm start.
