Baseball’s Jesse Uttendorfer was honored as NJIT Male Athlete of the Week for his performance during the Highlanders series against North Florida last week.

The senior helped his team clinch a spot in the ASUN Conference tournament, a first ever for NJIT baseball, going 6-for-11 in three games, producing a game-high three RBI’s.

Uttendorfer had the game winning double in game one of Thursday’s double header verse the Osprey’s and then went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI in game two.

The outfielder leads the team in hits with 55 and RBI’s with 27 and holds a .320 batting average.

NJIT will compete as the sixth seed at the ASUN Championships starting on Wednesday.
