Marko Drljic scored a goal and tallied an assist in the Highlanders home opener against VMI Friday night at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

Drljic scored a goal in the 89th minute, giving him a goal and an assist in the Highlanders' victory. Drljic scored his goal on a header.

The sophomore was also named national Division I Independent Player of the Week for games played through August 26, as selected by the web site College Sports Madness.
