Uju Nwankwo, the Highlanders sophomore, made one free throw with 25 seconds remaining, snapping a 53-53 tie and giving NJIT a 54-53 victory over Bucknell in non-conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
 
The 6-foot forward, who paced the Highlanders with 13 points, was fouled attempting a shot in the frantic closing seconds. She made the second of the two free throws and then keyed a solid defensive possession where the Highlanders kept Bucknell from scoring.  Nwankwo hurried Bucknell's Shelby Romine's final shot with four seconds left.

She was also selected College Sports Madness Great West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
