Senior Isaiah Wilkerson averaged 20 points and seven rebounds for the week, as NJIT played a non-conference game vs. Colgate and then secured its first Great West road win of 2011-12, defeating Chicago State on Saturday, 73-64.
Wilkerson, who is the leading scorer in the Great West Conference at 16.5 points per game, set a new career single-game high in the win at Chicago State, netting 26 points, including 10 in the last minute, when he was 8-for-8 at the foul line.
Wilkerson, who also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds in Chicago, was 10-for-10 at the line in that game and shot 19-for-20 for the week.
Wilkerson leads the Highlanders in scoring (16.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.1 rpg) and steals (40). He is second on the team with 45 assists.
Wilkerson was also named Great West Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
