Meghan Allen joined the NJIT Athletics staff in March 2026 after serving as a Major Gifts Officer at WaterAid in New York. She will serve as a member of the Highlanders’ athletics development team, supporting fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts.

While at WaterAid, Allen managed and cultivated a portfolio of more than 150 major donors with annual gifts ranging from $5,000–$100,000 and oversaw a planned giving portfolio of more than 100 prospects and donors. She supported all phases of the organization’s month-long #TeamWater campaign with a goal of $40 million and helped identify and engage high-net-worth individuals to support the campaign. Allen also planned and coordinated international donor trips, designed cultivation events to engage prospective supporters and assisted with the organization’s transition from Raiser’s Edge to Salesforce.

Prior to WaterAid, Allen served as a Major Gifts Officer at Children’s Aid in New York, where she managed a portfolio of 250 donors and helped secure multiple six- and seven-figure commitments, including a $2 million gift. She also supported development leadership strategy for principal-level prospects and assisted with coordinating major fundraising events. Allen began her tenure at Children’s Aid as a Development Associate, Operations, where she managed gift processing, acknowledgment communications and mid-level donor engagement efforts.

Allen began her development career at Providence College in the Office of Institutional Advancement as a student worker supporting the Major Gifts team. She later continued her involvement with the institution as a Class Agent and Reunion Committee Co-Chair for the Friars of the Last Decade program, coordinating alumni outreach and reunion participation initiatives.

A 2019 graduate of Providence College, Allen earned her bachelor’s degree in Global Studies with a concentration in Social Work and a minor in Spanish.
