Matt Ambrose joined the NJIT Media Relations and Digital Strategy staff in July 2024 after serving as the Assistant Director, Digital Media & Communications at Seton Hall University. He serves as the primary contact for NJIT's men's basketball, baseball, men's tennis and women's volleyball programs.

Ambrose managed social media accounts, provided graphical and video content on multiple platforms, and was the secondary contact for the Seton Hall men’s basketball team, who claimed the 2024 NIT title under head coach Shaheen Holloway.  He was the primary contact for men’s soccer, cross country, swimming and diving and softball, the latter of which claimed the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament title.

Prior to joining the Pirates, Ambrose was the Communications Assistant for the BIG EAST Conference for one season, serving as the primary contact for volleyball, swimming and diving, tennis and softball; and secondary contact for women’s basketball. With the BIG EAST, Ambrose selected weekly award winners for his assigned sports, maintained historical information on the conference website, and assisted with social media and operations at championship events throughout the year.  He continues to broadcast live games as a play-by-play commentator for the BIG EAST Digital Network.

A 2019 graduate of Seton Hall University, Ambrose earned his bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He served as Sports Director for the award-winning student radio station 89.5 FM WSOU, was an On-Air Correspondent for the Pirate Sports Network and interned with MSG Networks as a Production Student Associate during his undergraduate degree.

Ambrose completed his Master of Science in Sport Management at Frostburg State in 2021 while serving as the Athletic Communications Broadcast Assistant for two seasons.  He oversaw and provided play-by-play for both video and radio broadcasts, operated Frostburg State’s athletics website and social media channels.
