Shawntell Manning joins the NJIT women’s volleyball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach as of August 2018.
A standout track and field star at Tufts University, Manning was the NCAA Division III National Champion in the women’s indoor 400 meters. An eight-time all-American, Manning was the team captain, most valuable player, and awarded Tufts University’s Hester B. Sargent Award for Best Female Athlete her senior year.
Fueled by a passion for volleyball, she trained with numerous clubs, camps, coaches, leagues and clinics in the New York metro area, eventually coaching and captaining her own teams for adult competition with New York Urban, VBLI, Garden Empire Volleyball Association and at USAV Nationals.
Shawntell is a certified official for the Garden Empire Volleyball Association and a member of the New Jersey Board of Volleyball Officials.
