    Volunteer Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach
Marc Solondz joined the NJIT women’s volleyball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in August 2015, having most recently been a head coach at two New York NCAA Division III programs.
 
Most recently, Solondz was head coach at Purchase College (State University of New York) in 2013 and 2014.
 
Before Purchase, he guided New York University Polytechnic to 95 wins in five seasons, including three Skyline Conference championships. The Blue Jays also reached the conference finals two other times. During his time with NYU Poly, Solondz coached players who compiled 11 all-conference awards, plus three Skyline Players of the Year and four conference Rookies of the Year.
 
In 2009, he led Poly to an NCAA Division III tournament berth, the first in school history in any sport. The team repeated in 2010 and 2011, advancing to the NCAAs each season.
 
Prior to taking over the head coaching position at Poly, he spent two seasons as the school’s assistant coach in both women’s volleyball and men’s volleyball.
 
A resident of Union, NJ, and graduate of Livingston (NJ) High School, Solondz has also coached youth soccer and was assistant coach of girls’ volleyball at Solomon Schecter High School in West Orange.
 
When he was an undergraduate student at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, he coached women’s cycling teams.
 
Outside of athletics, he was employed in retail management and film production from 1986 to 1992. He entered the field of property management in 1992 and since 1998 has been a managing member of the  firm Viking Properties, LLC, managing multiple apartment complexes, as well as retail and commercial locations.
