New Jersey Institute of Technology Athletics

Joining the NJIT women’s soccer coaching staff for 2011, Erwin van Bennekom, a native of the Netherlands, has extensive experience as a coach in Women's Professional and Youth club soccer.

Erwin currently is the Assistant Coach of Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer league (NWSL) as well as Director of Girls Coaching for STA Soccer Club based out of Morristown, NJ.

Since January 2010, he has headed the New Jersey Blaze women’s team in the Women’s Premier Soccer League. He also coached the Real New Jersey SC Power and NJ Elite '95, both top-ranked club teams in its age group in the country. 

He is a graduate of CIOS Academy - Institute of Sports and the KNVB (translated in English as Royal Dutch Football Association) Academy in his home country, which is renowned worldwide for its player and coach development program.

Erwin currently hold a UEFA "B" and "C" License, KNVB Trainer Coach II & III License, US Soccer USSF "C" License, NSCAA Youth Diploma and Rene Meulensteen Technical Training Diploma.
