New Jersey Institute of Technology Athletics

Demetrios Valsamis, a veteran coach for over 16 years at Cobra Club, joined the NJIT men’s and women’s fencing coaching staff in October 2024.

Valsamis, who competed at the highest level in fencing at NYU, captured the 1983 NCAA Foil title.

He is a four-time Cadet and Junior National Champion, three-time All-American and two-time US World Team member.

Valsamis has been the Fencing Coach at Cobra Fencing Club LLC in Jersey City since 2007.
