Coordinator of Tennis/Head Men’s Tennis coach Ira Miller and Women’s Tennis head coach Zaki Abdelrahman have announced the addition of Aitor Reparaz as a graduate assistant for the men’s and women’s programs.
“We are very excited to have Aitor join our staff here at NJIT. His strong college tennis playing background and his extensive high level teaching experience will bring a lot to both programs. He was one of the top coaches at the Nadal Academy and we look forward to his contributions on the court, during matches, and with recruiting,” Miller said of Reparaz’s appointment.
Reparaz, a native of Barcelona, Spain, brings high quality collegiate and international experience to the Highlander program. Reparaz spent the last four years as a coach at Spain’s Rafa Nadal Academy (RNA). At RNA, Reparaz was a Lead Coach for ITF-level players, managing a co-ed group of 24 players and leading a staff of three assistant coaches.
Collegiately, Reparaz competed at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan College from 2011-15. A two-time team captain and two-time All-Mountain East Conference selection, Reparaz helped WVWC earn a NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 berth in 2013 and a pair of conference titles (WVIAC, 2011; MEC, 2014).
Reparaz also earned an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Regional doubles title with WVWC teammate Joel Izquierdo in 2014 and ranked as high as seventh nationally in DII doubles during his collegiate career.
Academically, Reparaz also earned ITA Academic All-American honors in 2014.
